Stages Of Cervical Cancer
When healthy cells in any part of the body begin to grow out of control, there us very strong chance that cancer cells will begin to develop. Cancer is very rare in a young people as their body
cells are continually growing and dividing. As a person gradually grows
older, the normal cells in his body cease to grow and divide. They only
replace cells that have died or been injured. Sadly this is when cancers
begin to form in the body as they never die naturally, and will instead
replace normal cells that have died. This is when cancerous cells will
begin to reproduce and spread.
It the cancer cells are allowed to reproduce unchecked, they will begin to attack and kill healthy cells and tissue in other parts of the body Known as metastasis, and this is when the cancerous cells spread through the body in the bloodstream or lymph vessels. Cervical cancer strikes women, usually in the thirties up to their seventies. It begins when cancerous cells form in the womb .In general, the disease strikes women who have had one or more children. Also susceptible, according to statistics, are those who have been heavier than average smokers or suffered from sexually transmitted disease. The disease can be described as a "silent killer"
as the symptoms generally begin to show only once the cancer has begun
to spread. The stage when the cells are "pre-cancerous"
can be as long as few years. However the longer it goes unnoticed, then the treatment
will be much more critical and the chances of survival slimmer. As the
disease spreads, the sufferer will begin to experience constant vaginal
bleeding which alert her to seek treatment.
If cancer is detected, generally the only alternative is partial or total removal of the womb, as well as some of the damaged tissue surrounding it. Once the patient completes surgery, the doctor treating
the case will send the patient for a continuous cycle of chemotherapy
treatment to ensure that all the cancerous cells have left the body.
Chemotherapy entails exposure to string drugs that have notorious side
effects. These include baldness, fatigue nausea, constant vomiting and
diarrhea attacks. In many cases the cancer will return as the patient
has to resume these cycles of pain, humiliation and discomfort. Yet all this suffering may be avoidable. Increasingly more people have discovered and adapted their life styles. Their alternative, healthier life style includes a viable method for preventing and treating diseases, amongst them cervical cancer. Known as holistic medicine, this method of treatment disallows the use of invasive and pharmaceutical techniques to treat cancer. Results have shown that this form of treatment can be effective and provide a cure with none of the side effects of chemotherapy.
