Is There A Successful Research Center
For Cancer Treatment?
Cancer, virtually unknown or at least undetected half a century ago, has risen to become a modern day epidemic, and is now regarded as the second largest cause of mortalities in the World. It is possible that the World woke up too late in
its realization and has placed too much time and invested too much money
on trying to treat cancer. However, even over the last two or three
years, great strides have been made in treating the disease, reducing
the suffering of cancer sufferers by reducing dependence on high concentration
level doses of chemotherapy treatment. Hopefully one day, in the not
too distant future, scientists will unlock the key and discover what
sparks of the DNA abnormality that actually causes the cancerous cells
to form in the human body.
There is no escaping the
fact that the percentage of people who are stricken with cancer and
are surviving the disease is on a constant rise. Once being diagnosed
with cancer was equivalent to be handed down a sentence of certain death,
and a slow and lingering one at that. All this has changed thanks to
a combination of immense capital outlays in research and the great minds
of research teams spread throughout the globe and working around the
clock to beat this horrible disease which has invaded our society like
the plague. The war against cancer
is being fought on two fronts in the research centers for cancer treatments
spaced around the World. The first front is to simplify the cure for
cancers, to reduce the levels of invasive treatments required to remove
the cancerous tumors from the patient's bodies. Laser treatments have
become more and more commonplace in cancer surgery, reducing the need
for the huge incisions required up until fairly recently in cancer surgery.
Research scientists are
working on various trials to reduce and refine as reducing, as much
as possible, the need for highly concentrated chemotherapy drug treatments
and the horrendous side effects caused by them. Alternative treatments
such as immunology are showing to be as equally effective whilst causing
absolutely no side effects. The second front of research
aimed to ease the plight of cancer sufferers is to understand what causes
cancer cells to appear. Scientists have long since realized that by
understanding what causes cancer to occur in the human body, will they
be able to find a cure for it.
By examining data and
statistics on all the various forms of cancer, which sector of the population
it attacks, at what age, etc. Only by sifting through endless data can
research scientists gradually build up an accurate answer to the question
"Is there a common mutation that causes cancer in all its forms?
Or does each form of cancer have its own mutation?" By answering
that question research scientists will have gone a long way to preventing
cancerous cells from forming in the human body At any time there are thousands of the finest minds in medical research working on this equation, and there have been breakthroughs and they are occurring all the time.
