Breast Cancer Awareness

Medical statisticians report the fact that the incidences of breast cancer among women is on the rise. Why this is happening, no one is quite sure. Among the theories are that changes in eating habits of the last quarter of a century, bringing with it obesity, may be a principal factor.

Findings of research within the medical profession have shown that cancer of the breast is the most widespread among the female population of the World, with around 10% of women being stricken at some time in their lives. On a positive note, survivors of breast cancer are relatively high. If caught early enough, the disease can be treated. The medical profession claiming that the reason is the increase in breast cancer awareness, bringing about its detection.

This regime, known as "early checking" encourages women to check their breasts every day. They are advised to be on the look out for signs of lumps, no matter how small, and hard ridges. If they discover any changes in their breasts, they must go immediately to their doctor or health clinic.

There is no doubt that by following this simple procedure, the percentage of fatalities due to breast cancer has been dramatically reduced. Where there is increasing argument among the practitioners of conventional medicine and the followers of holistic method, is to how the disease can be treated, and in the latter case, even be prevented from happening in the first place.

Increasing evidence of the benefits of holistic medicine have show a remarkable trend in rates of recovery amongst who have been diagnosed with suffering from breast cancer, both before or after surgery.

Conventional medicine only advocates one course of treatment for breast cancer sufferers. That is to immediately to undergone surgery, to remove the growth before it spreads. This usually entails a full mastectomy and subsequent chemotherapy treatment. Holistic medicine is increasingly proving that it can prevent the need for this form of surgery, and all the suffering and discomfort it entails.

Public awareness of breast cancer and how to diagnose it is at its highest level. The question being increasingly asked is can thus cruel disease be wiped out entirely? Only over the next few years as the public, especially those at risk, increasingly discover the options that holistic medicine can present them. Then we will hopefully see the numbers of females diagnosed as suffering from this cruel disease diminish.
